Autodesk has released
Maya 8.5. The most notable new feature is Maya Nucleus, Autodesk's unified simulation framework. It is a linked particle system that interactively simulates a wide range of dynamic entities and works with various types of geometry within a unified framework. Other new and enhanced features are:
