Serayu Progress digital artwork by Brittney Phillips - Fan Art

Artist's Comment
This is obviously a work in progress... I'm very new to digital painting as well. Lots of work to go til the finished product! Please ignore the hands as i am putting gloves on top of them, same with the eyes- i only have the basic basic shape down. I spent a good amount of time on the hair, not sure if it turned out alright or not. I have alot of work to do on the lips/etc as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at it and feel free to comment. By the way, This is Serayu - a character from the book "The Shack." (Atleast my own intperpetation :) Thanks again!

I can definately see a lot of progress compared to your first submission =)

First of all, let me tell you that her hair looks excellent, much better than I could ever manage.

Also, lips look very good, but if they have the correct angle, then I think that the right half of her face is not following the bend of the skull (at least the part right under the eye). imo, too much of that area is visible.

Hands are good, very close to perfect dimensions. With gloves they will be excellent =)

I dunno, maybe the left shoulder is a little bit small..?

I know that the eyes are at the basics, but something seems fundamentally wrong with her right eye; it looks like you've turned it upside down..

Really like the shading you've done on her neck, that's really good work. Actually. all your shading work here is impressively well done, congrats on that =)

I have to tell you that I do not have any kind of artist education, I just tell you what I think from what I see.

As this is a sort of "sketch", I think it is very well done. I will give you a four, and I'm quite confident that your finished work will deserve an even better rating =)
