Artist's Comment
This tree belongs to a special variety of beeches called faux in French. "Les Faux de Verzy" are already mentioned in 1664. Their number is estimated to 800 with a life expectation close to 500 years. The phenomena is still a mystery to nowadays science. The trees mostly spread by runners, Their branches sink into the ground, form roots and new trees spring up.

the picture itself is a combination from two shots one with flash (accidentially), one without, and running wild with filters.
