Thanks for your comment. In a real painting when we put opaque layers of colors on canvas the texture is not so obvious, but in places that color is semi-transparent and thin the texture is detectable. I tried to imitate this in my digital work.

Nice job! Excellent detail in the face, I might work that black speckly area a bit. I hate it when the texture shows through that much when it's not visible in the face...
