Part of the reason why I love art history so much is because of the story lurking behind the images we artists make. I find that anesthetic reasons are qualifying enough, but there is a part of the soul that is shared through art as well. I can't help but imagine how this image must frustrate you and yet how it must comfort you some small degree to remember and know that this person did touch you and made you feel alive. I think we all can identify with the feeling of a lost opportunity but never for a single instant regret at connecting with someone in a profound way, no matter how long you knew them. You conveyed that extremely well. I hardly needed the artist's comment to understand what this image was about.
