Artist's Comment
This was a Christmas gift I made for my brother, the gift of a poor artist. When I have no money I give art. I really enjoyed making this. It served as an emotional conduit to my ancestry while I was creating this piece. I created this using a mouse and in a way I feel that I put my blood into the sands that served as my paint. This is less than 25% of the actual size and I hope that other people don’t also have to use a mouse to digitally paint. My mouse has become a great source of pain.

This is Tiki. In some Polynesian cultures Tiki is the first man and in others Tiki created the first man (or woman) out of clay. In some cultures Tiki mixed his blood with the clay to create man. In others he mixed sand with water and created a woman.

The names of most of the Polynesian islands or group of islands are floating around in this picture.

Be well, -M Tatafu

Very well done. Excellent use of smoothness for the "rock."
