Artist's Comment

This is a rework of the portrait of mine titled "Cool Evening." I'm not very good with shadows and light, so this was an experiment (hence the title).

It's been a long time since I've posted anything here, but hopefully I'm getting better.

I created the original portrait in Illustrator using gradient meshes, then did the rest in Photoshop.

I love this. She is so emotionally raw, vulnerable, yet in complete control. Technically, I love the way the hat sits on the head, just amazing.
