Qanesia-Organic & Metallic (Fantasy) digital artwork by Bitiusca George

Artist's Comment
All started out with a sketch in the Botanical Garden around 2 years ago, featuring a symbiosis betwen natural and mechanical, man-made elements. And I liked the idea so much, that one year later I transformed it into a digital project.
A lot of time was spent in the making of this, because I didn't want to use any photo elements, but instead I wanted to build everything myself. I almost succeeded, but after weeks of hard work, I just didn't have the strength to also model the 3 engines, therefore I used some stock. and for the 2 power pylons as well. The rest is 3d.
Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy it. :D

Tech info:

-Lightwave 8 & 9.2 for the bridge, house, rocks, planets and all machinery
-XFrog 3.5 for palms and banana trees (rendered in LightWave 8 & 9.2)
-Vue 5 Infinite for background
-Photoshop CS2 for sky and additional painting
-everything assembled in Photoshop CS2

Originally done in March 2006, with a facelift executed in October 2007.

520MB .PSD, 200+ layers, 7000x7581 @150dpi.

This is the sort of digital art I could only dream of creating, I don't doubt for a minute how much time was spent on it. Great attention to detail and for very little photo elements, its and impressive outcome.
