Just looked at Enlightenment, so I had to browse a few more by Mr. Thurman.
This one leapt out at me: very distinct, layered almost metamorphically in stripe and band upon stripe and band:
builds up Cezanne-like, but from banding, with just enough variety to hedge it between landscape and abstraction.
Nice.
