Made this a couple of days ago on his birthday.
My Wacom broke shortly before that, so it's all mouse.
I did all the modeling in Wings3D, originally intending for a photorealistic but still slightly stylized picture. Then I looked at some old airbrushed paintings and decided to render it mostly untextured in Amorphium (whose light is perfect for that sort of thing).
The next few hours of work were all Photoshop, painting in the hair and trying my best to get the imperfections (like the lack of teeth or adding the cigarette) in without a Wacom. Finally, I added the patches of light and shade. |
