People usually fear the dark because of what they can't see. In most cases you turn the light on and nothing is there. For that reason I find Death to be more creepy when presented with the lights on. He sort of fades in and out of reality almost like television static, stuck with the idea from a previous Death painting. Thinking about doing a series of images similar to this.
