Very nice sense of texture. I believe this figure would fall to pieces if I flicked it. The figure is very fragile and seems to be in terrible despair. I think the darker values are working well and the figure seems to be fading into or emerging out of them. I enjoy some of the marks you used in the negative space but I don't think you should allow them to follow the frame of the image so rigidly. Let those marks be a little more organic. Great job!
