I also like how the wounds are of different ages, so it's apparent that they've been running for a while - some bruises are old and look to be almost faded away while that bandaged arm might only be a day old and the cut on his face is only minutes old. Very cool thought put into the picture. I'm not sure that the kid is just asleep though. I'm thinking wounded and drugged up, or perhaps has a spell put upon him of some sort. I don't think he'd be sleeping through all this. Maybe if he is totally and completely exhausted from the constant fleeing.
Hmm, I need to talk my wife into wearing outfits like that around the house! At least it isn't the 'armor' that women wear that is so skimpy that it's totally useless. *Pet Peeve*

RJ McConn - Thank you for your comments. I gave up trying to explain to BlackWolf that his views are limited to his own culture/life experience, as you can see he's quite adamant about his subjective views. Maybe he'll respect your expert opinion more.
The illustration does have a story to go with it--something I've written in the past.
I totally expected people to comment that her outfit is impractical, and it's always been a pet peeve of mine about the fantasy genre--the gratuitous element. But you see, in the story, she didn't exactly wake up that day dressed for traveling and evading demon stalkers. It was just a typical day for her at home, and her husband came crashing into the house to get her and their baby, with the demon stalkers hot on his heels!

Had to chime in here, since it's kind of an area of expertise of mine - I teach psychology classes at a university. "Pretty Boys" are rated as much more attractive in every survey of women and/or girls in America. Whether that translates into finally getting the girl may not always follow, but they definitely are more desireable to girls at first look.
I love the work - it has such an awesome story behind it! Here's an illustration that should have some books or at least a short story or two based upon it! Awesome work! Of course the mother's clothes are totally impractical, but that's part of the genre. And she looks sexy as hell to boot!
note: "AFAIK" is short of "As Far As I Know" and yes, Iraq is Middle East, both in location and in culture - very little influence by modern East Asian culture.

hahaha! i wasnt talking about Iraq as asia, and whats AFAIK(is that arabic for something...?) anyway. You made this into some kind of crusade just because i told you that your "fact" was false. In reality my friend, there are not so many "prety" thats why theres TV for that and girls from what ever coutry doesnt go for that just because all media wants them to do, As i told you before, dont believe in everything you se on tv. Besides you drifted away litle. I just told you that his fase lookt "girly" and you exploded, and then you telling us that "prety boys do get more girls then rest of us" or something like that....NO THEY NOT. Girls fall in love for many resons just like guys...so dont try telling us something as if girls in asia are from othen planet. Your picture was good, but please dont preach on something you dont have facts of. telling me that girls in Asia fall for only one thing and guys that look girly gets all the girls....give me a f......b..... man.

BlackWolf - That's only true based on your limited experiences. Go browse ANY Japanese, Chinese, Korean entertainment website about popular singers and actors. Or, just simply browese anime and manga, or animation and comic books from Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China..etc. Pretty boys have been poplular in these countries for the past few decades, if not longer. The Japanese even have a term for that ideal pretty boy look--they call it bishonen, which means "beautiful boy." And since when is Iraq considered Asia? It's considered the middle east AFAIK.

BlackWolf - You probably have never lived in Asia. Pretty boys are what girls scream for in Asia.
