Thanx for your comment. There is absolutely no blurring. Everything was done by hand with differnt polygons of colors set at different opacitites. The tear was not meant to be very strong because tears are quite sheer in nature.

I like the vector-styled concept.
Although it appears you may have used too much gaussian blurring. It appears like there is color banding. Unless that the effect you were looking to create. If so, good job on creating definied color banding. Its also difficult for me to see the tear with the amount of blurring on the image.

Well - the spike you still haven't mastered , as for the rest of the concept - if not the name I would have hard time to understand what it stands for
