the story: *grin* *long story*
on a cold spring day, when i was really busy my mum forced me to learn chinese, i told her that i was busy, but she didn't care, so i was forced to read a chinese text and then write unknown words etc. first i was really pissed, but then the text turned out to be quite interesting. you know kafka the writer? the author of -the metamorphosis-? the text was about kafka how he understood the chinese philosophy. there's a chinese adage that says basically, that to much bliss will turn to sorrow.
now kafka read this and he created a metapher for this:
bliss and sorrow live as neighbours in the human heart, when bliss is too loud with its celebrations, it will wake up sorrow
then somebody asked him, what would happen if sorrow is too loud in his mourning?
kafka thought a while and then answered that bliss was deaf, and could not hear sorrow.
nice story, isn't it?
i'm currently very into literature, and i've just read the metamorphosis and i really love kafkas work. when i read the bliss and sorrow story, i decided to do a painting of my interpretation (but of course my painting is free for any different interpretation ;P)...
my next painting will be, *yeah guess what?* a painting for Goethes Faust ^^ (but to be honest, i don't like the concept of my next painting.....)
anyway, i'm talking too much...... like always
