Artist's Comment

This is the background of a poster for an upcoming local annual festival called the Frozen Alligator Cajun Bayou Heritage Festival. Final size: 10" x 24.5", full color, printed on gloss cover stock. The background is a doctored photo; it used to be a brightly colored fall scene but I made it frosted. The alligator ice sculpture, however, is 100% from scratch Photoshop. Little to no reference used.

Wow! Very impressive! You really did a great job!
Two little details: The blurry red dot in the middle of the left margin :)
The other thing, just above the right hand of the alligator, the black tree in the background is a very strong contrast to the rob in the foreground. Especially because the bough is parallel to the rob.

Actually, yes. Three days. ;} And it wasn't so much hard as an exciting challenge. I've never illustrated ice before. I wanted to see how realistic I could make it.

*sigh* Anyone have a job for an illustrator in the DC metro/northern VA area? Other regions are negotiable. ;}
