this is my self-portrait...
...the face is empty as not everyone knows the real me...only a few do.......the poem is an integral part of the painting....without it the painting is garbage !

I like this piece. You're wrong about the poem being the central point of the piece. The colors you chose, the style of clothes, the "un-details" all give off a sense of mystery. The way you are by yourself also transmits a sense of loneliness. The poem is good too, don't get me wrong, it's a nice addition, but don't think that that is what made this piece unique. I like your style. Keep up the good work.
