This is my first attempt at creating digital art. I'm still learning the program, and trying to adapt traditional techniques to the computer. Any comments and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Very good first attempt. It has kind of a cartoon or anamai type feel to it. Keep working and lets see some more!
