| Legolas built a ship to sail for the west... we are not told what the ship looked like nor what it was named. I had this idea in my fanfiction story that he named the ship after his mother, Queen Ariel Bereth-Galadhren, whose last words to her youngest son were that she only regretted she had never seen the Sea. 'I cannot show the Sea to Ariel. But I can at least let the Sea see Ariel!' So he designs the ship with the statue of Queen Ariel as figurehead (but also the swan, the traditional elven motif) looking towards the destination. The name of the ship is also Ariel. The background texture of the image is some sort of elven parchemnt, another of my inventions. |
