Altered Pathway (Abstract/Surreal) digital artwork by Virgil Crow

Artist's Comment
We are now witnessing sentient beings (humans perhaps?) traveling along the conveyor of perpetual movement. Most are blind to the choices that are waiting around every bend. One in three are aware of something beyond the perceived path. One in three hundred thousand possess the inner strength to take the necessary steps to commence on the next leg of the journey. Where do you fit in?

They are accompanied by 'lower' life forms, which are in fact hard wired with a great deal more information than most 'higher' creatures are conscious of.

yes, we isolated flickers of sentience are immersed in a seemingly alien, chaotic, senseless flux of an existence, and so few of us come to realize that it is our very own intentions, at the most dense and subtle levels, that manifest our realities. Wether we realize it or not, we are creating our lives each and every moment with overt as well as subconcious thought, and it is those that develop the awareness to unveil the unconcious whims and patterns of thought who break ordinary limitations, and truly become as masterful of their life as a body-dwelling being can be. No no, this not some tyrannical alien universe that arbitrarily or randomly tosses experiences at us, impartial to us. It is a relfection of our intentions, whether we are concious of those intentions or not.

I would say that "lower" life forms such as beetles and daises, are more connected to their primal programming which defines their purpose in life, and that humans are generally more aloof from this force... and I can cojecture this is because of our higher degree of the awareness of self...which is based on the premise that absolute unconciousness possesses similar qualities as absolute conciousness, or awareness. We humans are somewhere in between the two extremes, plant life being close to the extreme of total unawareness of self and thus devoid of anguish, obscurity of purpose, confusion, and all that being extracted from the source entails, and a buddha-like mind being close to the extreme of total awareness which is a transendence of the self, and a return to the primal unity..
Less aware life forms are at a point closer to the source than we are in this cyclic journey of selfdom to oneness(and vice versa).

I did a search for a random artwork and to my delight i was graced with another virigl crow artwork. I sent you an email a while back, not sure if you recieved it.

Like the booming 7th chakra on the foremost figure.

aesthetically, there's a lot to look at with this piece and lots of movement. surreal & interesting. i like the conveyor belt perspective.

as for the pic's meaning: "lower animals" act like animals (as they do) and harmonise with the planet. but when "higher animals" act like animals (as we do) we mess everything up because we're so dominant.

i always thought the ten commandments was a brief guide for "animals with choice" telling them how to not mess things up. it's ironic that so many of us are *religious* but can't even adhere to those basic ten rules.

must be trickier than it looks :-)
