Here I used part of a photo of a saxaphone then I copied and manipulated the image until it felt right for the background. The jazzman himself was completely created in photoshop no pre- sketching then I put a pale rose colored layer on top at 25% as a filter.

Actually, the man should be made to look like it was drawn the same way as the background. The three elements should have unity. Other than that, it lokks good :)

Pretty good. Geat artwork. I like the man better than the background. Perhaps you could somehow make the man stand out more from the background; more contrast.
