Serenity (Portraits) digital artwork by David 'Bigfoot' Hensler

Artist's Comment
I drew this in Photoshop 6 with my mouse (I don't have an graphics tablet), and I used a photo as reference to see that things kept proportioned. I'm very happy with how this turned out, even though it took me a lot of work. Took me two months to do.

You can see a screenshot taken during its making Here.

Wow cool!
On my first look i was sure that you have unexpectedly published the original photo rather than your work in photoshop - hah just jokin
But the only problem i saw which negated me to this idea was the unequalness of the holes of the nose. Only that you have concentrated less on the shading of the left hole. Otherwise this is one of the best pieces i have seen. Keep up the good work

It's me again! I can't stay away from your art. It is incredible! I read in your comments you used a photo, but my question was if it was a photo of someone close to you or someone you hardly knew. The resemblence to skin is remarkable, and her eyes have something about them. Keep up the amazing work!

It was based on a photo, so I'm not that creative. :) I used a bunch of grid lines on the photo and this to keep proportions from getting messed up.

Thanks for all the compliments.

This is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen and I have seen many amazing things. She is so realistic, so life like! You did a fine job! My question for you is this; was it based on anyone or just a vision you had turned reality?

WOW! That is awesom and inspiring, and motivating. I've gotta try my hand at a digital portrait - I dun have a tablet either and thought it would be impossible to make something like this without, but I guess not - so I'm gonna try!

WOW. That is awesome! I am a Black and White photographer and that is the type of picture I dream about taking. AWESOME JOB! It's so good it almost doesn't look real.
